“Take a risk!” Jamie says. “It was so scary for me and I wasn’t sure what would happen, but I am so glad I took a risk to pursue makeup artistry.”

A love for makeup!
Growing up, Jamie was always obsessed with makeup. She was the only kid at soccer practice with long red nails and bright red lipstick, waiting to race home to watch her mother curl her hair and apply makeup. Although she had never considered makeup artistry as a profession, it was always her favorite hobby. After high school, Jamie studied film and photography at Ithaca College and later accepted a job as a film editor in New York City.
On a weekend trip home, a family friend introduced Jamie to her new makeup line and invited her to a photo shoot. Jamie’s passion for makeup was truly ignited. She learned tricks and was given product to experiment with. With a great deal of fear and a whole lot of excitement, Jamie left her job and set out to forge a new career as a makeup artist. She began at a makeup boutique where she perfected her skills and later went on to take apprenticeships. Jamie learned the most valuable lessons by working with different clients, trading tips with other artists, and believing that practice really does make perfect.
Today Jamie works, lives and plays in Los Angeles, CA. She specializes in beauty, lifestyle, high fashion and special FX makeup, and was featured in Allure magazine’s “Best of the West, Makeup Masters” review.
