One of my personal favorite products to come from mark.’s new body care line formulated with Fair Trade Certified™* ingredients is The Big Fix 15-In-1 Big Benefits Balm. As a sufferer of dry skin, I find the balm to be amazing on my super dry spots- elbows and knees especially– but there are so many more ways you can use this balm!

First, let me give you the product 411: This multifunctioning balm contains vitamins A and E, both of which are antioxidants, which help to heal and prevent skin damage. The balm also contains the moisturizing and soothing Fair Trade Certified™ ingredients of coca butter, olive oil and vanilla. When you apply the balm, the heat from your skin softens the balm allowing it to moisturize and condition your skin.

The balm is encased in a fat tube, making it easy to toss in your purse and use throughout the day! You can apply this balm anywhere and everywhere—to heel cracked heels, on dry knuckles, as a hand and foot moisturizer, to soften cuticles, fix chapped lips, smooth eyebrows— the list goes on and on!

One of my unique uses it to apply it to the top of my nose, when it gets dry and flaky mid-day. What other uses have you found with The Big Fix?

Shop The Big Fix 15-In-1 Big Benefits Balm here

We (me and my best friend Kara) had breakfast with fellow mark rep Victoria Duke, her fiance, and the fabulous Meredith. Luckily, it was still snowing after breakfast so I went to go play in it!

We took one last trip down to Main Street to say goodbye to the Sundance Film Festival and the adorable town that hosted it. We are now sitting with our luggage in the hotel lobby waiting for our ride to the airport. I do not want to leave!! This truly has been a Dream Trip.

Thank you mark!!

It is such an experience to be at the screenings because you are watching a movie with the actual people that helped make it. And after the film they have a little Q & A session! Mark Ruffalo was there along with some of the actors and producers involved with the film. I can’t believe how incredible this experience has been so far and I can’t wait for tomorrow!!

Park City is an adorable little town and the snow is pure white all over. Also, I jinxed myself when I said it wasn’t that cold earlier… because it is definitely cold now. We just got out of “The Romantics” which I absolutely loved, and now it is time to get some much needed beauty sleep for a very busy day tomorrow!

I am going to be blogging from Sundance, courtesy of the mark rewards program! We just arrived to Park City, Utah and it is not as cold as I had imagined! The current temperature is 36 degrees, they tell me that this is warm. Our hotel room is unbelievable, I already don’t want to leave. The snow is so beautiful and we can people skiing outside our hotel window.

We just got all of our movie tickets and had a lovely lunch. We have a long list of movies to see over these next four days, and of course we were all too excited to sleep last night. We are taking a brief moment to refresh before heading out to our first movie!

Stay tuned for more updates from Sundance! I will be keeping you posted on celeb sightings and bundled up fashion trends!

How are you planning for 2010 in terms of meeting your mark selling goals? Can you share any of your tips with other mark Reps that help you manage and grow your business?

Jane Beerman, Trendspotter

Goals to Grow

Now that the New Year is coming up, it’s time to re-evaluate what you can do for yourself as a mark Rep for 2010. The great thing about selling mark is that YOU decide how much you are going to put into your own business and how much money you are going to make. I always use the S.M.A.R.T. system when setting my goals and it seems to work well. The S.M.A.R.T. process has been around for years and includes setting goals that are:

S- Specific – What exactly do you want to do with your mark. Business in 2010? This is the What, Why, and How part of goal setting.

M – Measurable – How are you going to be able measure your goal progress? What are your milestones that you want to hit? The key here is to make sure you set timeframes so that you can check your progress.

A – Attainable – Are your goals attainable? Do you have the time and resources to meet the sales that you want to make?

R – Realistic – What can you realistically put into your business to get the sales that you need to meet your goal? Often times, it is easy to set a lofty goal, but seriously think about what you can honestly do considering all the other things going on in your life.

T – Timely – Set a timeframe for when you want to meet your mini and major milestones. You need to have a clear cut path to get to where you want to be – and that is SUCCESSFUL!

Shortly after setting your goals for yourself, it’s time to make sales! Whether you are just starting out or have been selling mark for awhile, find ways to mix up your strategy and keep things fresh not only for your customers, but for yourself. Here are my top 10 selling tips / ideas for 2010:

10. Buy up demos! This is a cheap and efficient way to not only try new mark products, but also to sell them to your customer on the spot.

9. Always carry samples – it never fails – someone will compliment you on your mark perfume or wonder what color of lipstick you’re wearing. Have something available to give to them along with your business card!

8. Utilize the tools on meetmark.com – there is a ton of information on the mark site, whether it be makeup looks, updates on the latest mark products, or free business cards. The repository of information is amazing and will help you gain the edge you need to sell mark.

7. Build up your inventory – a lot of customers like to try and buy instead of waiting for something to come from our magalog. It is so much easier if you have the product on hand. Note which items are your best sellers and keep those in stock.

6. Party Planning – Planning more parties one of your goals? Get creative with your invites – feature the latest mark products and send a sample along with your invitation. That way, customers will have something to try and it gives an added incentive to show up to the party.

5. Add-ons – When a customer buys something, recommend a product that is complimentary to it. Example, if a customer wants to buy scanda-lash, show them the on-the-edge eyeliner and introduce them to hookups! Add-ons are an easy upsell and will introduce your customers to more products that they can then re-buy.

4. Magalogs – one great thing about buying anything from mark is that you get the latest magalog with your purchase. Keep extra magalogs on you or in your car and pass them out whenever you can.

3. Freebies – everyone loves free stuff! When you have a customer that buys something, offer them a little something extra. Maybe a new product that you bought at the demo price. It will show them that you appreciate their business, will make them want to order again from you next time, and shows them a new product!

2. Network, Network, Network – Whether you are at an office party, out with friends, or in the grocery store. Look for opportunities to increase your business. Anytime is a good time to meet new people, introduce them to mark, and make sales!

1. Use your online store (eBoutique)! I cannot stress this one enough. There is something to be said for being able to go to an online store, ordering what you want, and having it shipped to your house on your terms. Bring your laptop or create a sign in sheet at parties and have people give you their email address so that you can send them updates from the built-in emails on your site. Stress that there is often free shipping. Put a link to your online store on your Facebook or MySpace profile and gain instant customers. Build up your online contact list and watch your sales increase. The best part – it’s free!

Good luck to everyone in the upcoming year!

How are you planning for 2010 in terms of meeting your mark selling goals? Can you share any of your tips with other mark Reps that help you manage and grow your business?

Chloe Garcia, Trendspotter
2010 will be a good year to progress my sales! I plan on coordinating more mark parties for friends and family. Participating as a Trendspotter has taught me to focus on my skills and passions and apply them to my business. For example, I have decided to incorporate my baking skills and throw a combined mark and baking party. I will have potluck baking parties so that my friends can show off their favorite recipes and I can introduce them to some great mark products. I recommend a potluck since it is a fun and inexpensive way to have everyone join in the festivities, while you can concentrate on selling mark products. Before you start pitching, it is wise to be aware of your product. Read the Sneak Peek and Magalog and confidently explain the items to your customers so that they feel comfortable purchasing an item.

In addition to knowing your products, know your customer. It’s great for business when you have returning customers. Before the New Year, I’m always super busy with work, parties, shopping and more and so my resolution is to be more organized! A great way to keep your business organized is to log your customer orders. Create a spreadsheet with their personal information, the products they ordered and when they ordered. You will know when they need to refill and you can tell them about new products you think they might like.

Hope these tips help you and your business in the New Year! Good luck!
