WELL stand back and let Max and Lubov Azria take control, in my opinion you get SICK, SICK, SICKNESS!!!!!!!!  Their whole collection felt like a capsule of geometrics and futuristic nuances. Within pale neutrals, black, and metallic details, every inch of fabric was bound with sexy, powerful modern, even futuristic lines, and every cut-out for skin exposure was met with grace. I want every single piece!! xxxxxxx

With running around to all of these women’s shows, I thought I might 
give myself a break for a second and check out Simon Spurr’s menswear 
collection.  I love being inspired  by menswear and often find myself 
shopping in the men’s department or stealing my boyfriend’s clothes.  
And let’s be honest, ladies, no one had to drag me kicking and 
screaming to watch a bunch of male models walk down a runway in 
expertly tailored clothing! Perfect way to get my heart racing on 
Valentines day His lines were slim, his suits were dapper, tough, 
and tucked into military boots; and his cozy cashmeres were met with 
attitude from motorcycle jackets and collar-up peacoats.  It was easy 
to see he’s an Englishman turned New Yorker!  Just what every girl 
needs…(the collection, I mean…for their boyfriend…wink)!!!!

WHO: Britt Bardo and Meredith Kahn
WHAT: Studio visit
WHERE: Made Her Think Offices NYC
WHEN: Sat. Feb. 13th
As usual with any trip I make to NYC making time to stop off at the Made Her Think studio is a must (I mean Hello owner and designer Meredith Kahn is my best friend and neither of us would have it any other way).  What makes my trips to the office so much more exciting during fashion week is that Meredith is putting the finishing touches on her latest and greatest collection. So I get to be one of the first to touch it feel it and try it on.  And usually if I’m lucky borrow a few pieces to rock at a fashion party or two during the week.

Lots of lovely leather!!!!  I Love her  stuff, always edgey but 
wearable.  Ran into my friend and sometimes client Malin Akerman who 
looked stunning in one of Elise’s jackets.
The collection was inspired by her viewing of an open heart surgery 
and what came from that was a dark palette of reds and burnt oranges 
set against blacks. I’m noticing a theme here show after show…. 
shots  of  bright color set against black.  Her pieces were textured, 
layered, and passionate evoking a rocker-chick power we all like to 
keep in our closet.

WHAT: Fall 2010 Fashion Show
WHEN: Friday Feb. 12th 7pm
WHERE: Milk Studios

After the Frank Tell show, I wandered downstairs to Costello Tagliapietra’s show…and waited, and waited, and waited for forty five minutes past show time for it to begin.   I wasn’t surprised though as this is often the case with shows during fashion week.  It was simply gorgeous! Costello is known for their sophisticated and easy jersey draped dresses and as always each piece felt hand crafted to spiraled, twisted, and structured perfection! What was so lovely about this collection was that each print was made by a new, environmentally friendly technique called AirDye, which is a dye process that uses absolutely no water!
And a tip for all you ladies: they matched all their gentle, desert hues with bright coral and red lipstick! It made for such a youthful power! An inspiration worth the wait!

WHAT: Fall 2010 Fashion Show
WHEN: Friday Feb. 12th 6pm
WHERE: Milk Studios

This collection was a stunning opener to my night of shows at Milk. We were greeted to an all white interior with exposed florescent bulbs piled against a bare white backdrop (super similar to a stark studio set I’m used to working in for Mark photoshoots!). The simplicity of it all made his textured collection stand out that much more!  This coming fall, Frank Tell will be influencing us to push our day-fashion envelope to one that, amongst comfortable fabric and easy neutral, embraces futuristic form and texture. Don’t mind if I do!!

WHO: Yigal Azrouel
WHAT: Fall 2010 Runway show
WHEN: Friday Feb. 12th
WHERE: Bryant Park Tents

Not only did Yigal Azrouel feature more suits this season, he is generally known for his expertly tailored dresses, but he showcased his men and women’s collection together!
It was beautiful to see how the lines blurred between the two and how one collection influenced the other. This fall, Yigal has put balance to the test. His pieces were constructed but comfortable, structured but exposed, approachable but detailed with leather, wool, and beading.  It’s nice to see more bold pieces worn in such a cool, easy way!  Balance is definitely a quality I admire in personal style!, an impressive accomplishment for Yigal as usual.

We took one last trip down to Main Street to say goodbye to the Sundance Film Festival and the adorable town that hosted it. We are now sitting with our luggage in the hotel lobby waiting for our ride to the airport. I do not want to leave!! This truly has been a Dream Trip.
